Producer and DJ Tommy Pulse, real name Bas Tichelaar (1978), has released material under many names - including Virus, R.B.A., Medicine Men, Lazy Jones, Headz Up, and Stone Cold. In 1995, the Amsterdam born DJ was just seventeen when his first Hardcore record was released by ID&T. It got major airtime and two releases soon followed on the Masters of Hardcore label. Together with two friends he combined forces as the R.B.A. project and several R.B.A. releases were born. A video clip was shot with the first single ‘No Alternative’ and it provided them with several important performances in Germany and Switzerland. The track was also very popular in Holland and besides performing with the act R.B.A. he played live as the hardcore act ‘Virus’ at gigantic parties like Thunderdome, Hellraiser and Speedrazor. As a producer and remixer Tichelaar has delivered several records for Ferry Corstens’ company Purple Eye Entertainment, as well as Warner Music and Q-Dance, and he has co-produced for DJ Astrid. In 2002 he started a new harddance label called Stealth Industries. In 2003 the third release on this label (Land of the Lost) was released on Sensations’ Black Edition CD, which also featured tracks by artists including Dana, Luna, Don Diablo, G&M Project and Marcel Woods. Tichelaar has also started a company (TP Works) which creates and develops softsynth plugins for use with the music program Cubase. Tichelaar now plans to release upcoming records almost exclusively as Tommy Pulse, freezing the rest of his alter egos to concentrate on building the reputation of his main 'brandname'. The credo of Tommy Pulse is: "Attract attention by following my heart in music. When I stand behind my own work I will earn respect and appreciation." Read more on Last.fm.
