In 1987 TRYX was formed in Miami, Florida by lead vocalist Jesse Star. While recording and touring locally in the Miami and Ft. Lauderdale area, the band felt as thought they were not in the right place to secure a major recording contract and as a result they relocated to New York. After a short one month stay, they headed west for the bright lights of Los Angeles and arrived on the scene in 1989. After Opening stints for Pretty Boy Floyd and The Zeros, TRYX rapidly became a frequent headliner on the Sunset Strip and secured management with legendary Kiss producer, Kenny Kerner. The one of a kind, unique and original idea included the concept for each letter in the band name to represent an individual band member and color. T represented purple and bassist Tracy Dahne. R represented red and vocalist Jesse Star. Y represented pink and drummer Cody Marks and X represented blue and guitarist and main songwriter Roxy DeVeau. Read more on Last.fm.
