Vain Velocity

The origin of almost everything we experience has its roots in a solid idea, a notion or a feeling. The music of Vain Velocity was always the essence that gave the group itself meaning and motive. Formed in 2008, in Thessaloniki, Greece, Vain Velocity has constantly been a vessel that carried forward a maelstrom of potential. In the summer of 2009 the first recordings resulted in "The Odds Are Even" EP and with it, a surge forward. Through various line-up changes the debut LP "Synergies" rolled out of the recording studio during the spring of 2010 resulting in much praise and appreciation as the first reviews made clear: "One of the best albums in the Greek metal scene..." (rockoverdose.gr) "...Synergies is a diamond and a rare release" (rockap.gr) "I'm sure (Vain Velocity) will amaze and win over many metal fans" (publicstage.gr) "Synergies is "cursed" with having touched perfection in many levels" (soundmag.gr) Driven by such acclaim and the encouraging support of their fans, the five members of Vain Velocity set out to go further. Shortly after the line-up stabilized in its current form, the recordings for a second LP began and the result surfaced in 2013 with "Emerge & See", which quickly reassured both critics and the band itself that Vain Velocity have a lot more to offer: "...I found Vain Velocity's work exceptional..." I may have become over-analytic, but that's only because there are no mediocre moments in it" (myrock.gr) The bar has now been set even higher and with that in mind, the band members themselves have once again decided to surpass bias and preconception, to create music that wants to be heard.
