Velure are Lynnelle Moran (voice), Roy John (programming, synths), Lachlan Carrick (programming, synths, rhodes, melodica), Dan West (programming, guitars) and Christopher Hale (acoustic bass guitar). The quintet from the far end of the world combine silky'n'sensual vocals with classic'n'cracking synthsounds as well as fat'n'fine beats to create songs leaning towards d'n'b and trip-hop, sometimes touching you deeply, sometimes kicking your ass badly. So it hardly comes as a surprise that their composition-pearls do not only make even the most obdurate netaudio-nerd melt like a stick of butter but have also already caused one scribe or another to give them raving reviews in magazines like "The Age", "3RRR" and "Remix". Thus, without any doubt or hesitation, we swiftly grab our fattest magic marker to highlight the fifth continent on our map of the musical world, while cheerfully anticipating their debut album set for release in early 2005.
