Veronica Nunn (born October 7, 1957 in Little Rock, Arkansas) is an American jazz singer most known as the featured vocalist with Michael Franks since 1992. In the late 1970s she moved to New York to pursue a degree in Theology at Lehmans College in the Bronx. Singing in the music clubs at night to support her college tuition, she met George Walker, a.k.a. Big Nick Nicholas (who was famous for being a teacher of legendary tenor saxophonist John Coltrane) who took her under wing, and she became a first-call jazz singer in the Harlem and Greenwich Village jazz scene in New York. In 1997 she married jazz pianist Travis Shook and together they started their own record label, Dead Horse Records, which is currently based out of Woodstock, NY. Read more on Last.fm.
