Victor! fix the sun was a post-hardcore/screamo band from Michigan with three members. Two of those members are now in Jowls and the other is now in Blank States. They had three releases: 'We' (2005) - split with Tanooki Suit 'Retractable Claws' (2007) 'Person Place or Thing' (2009) --- Droughts: they exist everywhere you look in the Midwest. The lack of rain fall that occurs during summer months leads to both agricultural and economic droughts. Our markets then have to import, further widening the hole that has been ripped in our very wallets. Mother Nature can be very cruel in our time of need, and we’re forever at her mercy. While stingy clouds disrupt our economic system, the Midwest music scene deals with a struggle of its own. A deficiency of originality in local bands began causing listeners to be bored, changing the formula of a normal Friday and Saturday night. Rather than go out to the local hall or venue to catch a show, everyone began playing board games at home, watching television (ultimately causing a rise in the ratings of MTV reality shows which gave MTV the false sense that their shows were actually good, giving way to even more horrible shows), and even playing online checkers. In a collected attempt to quench the thirst of Midwest music lovers, several ground-breaking bands formed, resetting the standard and raising the bar for their peers. One of those groups, armed with beards and mouth brows, was Victor! Fix The Sun. Originally hailing from Traverse City, Michigan but later residing in Grand Rapids, Victor! Fix the Sun was a force to be reckoned with. Drawing influence from each other, as well as Q And Not U and At The Drive-in, the three-piece began writing in March of 2003, assembling from the shambles of a previously started band. The summer of the same year, the band was playing shows and winning over crowds with their quick blend of dance, punk and post-hardcore. They soon attracted the attention of local labels and signed on to the roster of Michigan’s own Friction Records. After releasing their first CD entitled 'We' (a split with fellow Traverse City band Tanooki Suit), the band began touring in support, playing shows all over Michigan, Indiana and Illinois. In 2007, the band released their first full-length, 'Retractable Claws', and fueled up their engines, moving to Grand Rapids and playing more shows than ever. The band wrote more music and released another album in 2009 entitled 'Person Place or Thing'. Droughts can be easily solved with sprinklers, better fertilizer, and most preferably dance driven indie rock. The band, however, broke up in early 2011. Read more on Last.fm.
