Limerick, Ireland - That's where! We Should Be Dead are a two girl / two boy pop 4-piece tour de force, who have mastered the art of crafting catchy, hook-laden songs about love & betrayal, outer space, current affairs and anything else that captures their vivid imagination. Just imagine, songs that stick to you like glue, from the first listen!.... What a concept! "The Dead" arose from a rapidly decaying music scene in 2003 when Limerick's previously thriving underground venue, 'The High Stool' closed its doors. Unfazed by the sparse remains of a much acclaimed hot-spot for touring bands, Tara (Vocals / Synth), Anna (Guitar / Vocals), Stephen (Drums), and Gary (Bass) came together to inject new life into a then defunct scene. What started as a studio project between Stephen and Tara spawned an idea for a band unlike anything else at the time. The young foursome already had a strong background and experience in recording and live performance, so it wasn't long before the scene; the largely dominated by Metal and Hardcore, took notice and hailed We Should Be Dead as a breath of fresh air. In the midst of playing a string of shows around Ireland, the band began work on their debut album, recording 17 songs in ten days, 13 making the final cut. What followed took everyone by surprise, but no one more than the band themselves as they watched the "Forget Romance, Lets Dance!" album take on a life of its own... In the 12 months of its release in Ireland, the "Forget Romance, Lets Dance!" album earned the group plenty of critical acclaim, a Meteor Music Award Nomination (Irelands VMA's) a Top Five single, countless TV and radio appearances, as well as becoming a worldwide blogosphere phenomenon. We Should Be Dead were shocked to find many of their tour dates were sold out in advance and record store orders required a second pressing of the album within a week after release date. Their tours quickly acquired a "must see live!" status, as many were knocked....err....dead?.....by the explosive energy and charisma of the bands live shows. In the summer of '08, We Should Be Dead embarked on their first US Tour. The positive reaction led them to concentrate on the US for 2009. Since arriving in January they’ve scored numerous endorsement deals (Orange Amps / Burns Guitars), completed an extensive southwest tour. They were also delighted to be invited to play at the prestigious ‘South by Southwest Festival’ in Austin Texas, where they caused quite the stir.
