Yvette Laboy, is an artist who conjures up images of a modern day siren. Similar to the sirens of ancient greek mythology, this Latin-American artist is able to transfix her audience with her sultry singing, exceptional high-energy performance and dynamic dancing capable of captivating any audience. A first generation Puerto Rican-American, she is deeply rooted in her heritage and depends on her Latin beat to move her heart and soul during every performance. Yvette Laboy is an experienced entertainer in the music industry. Using the name Diva LaBoy, she toured as a choreographer, dancer and background vocalist with such acts as: IFA (You Turn Me On); Deskee (Let There Be House and Kid Get Hype); and D'bora (Pumping It Up and Dream About You). Yvette has also appeared in several music videos including: Full Force's I'm Real featuring the godfather of soul, James Brown ; Grammy Award winning singer, Jody Whatley's Friends; RCA artist Deskee Kid Get Hyped. In 1988, "My Teddy Bear" her debut single was launched and received playing time in various New York City and Miami dance clubs. The Fox TV Show "Latin Connection" recruited her for various dance appearances in 1989 and 1990. Receiving high accolades from 1992 to 1997 for her performances at local Latin and American dance clubs, she excelled in her many talents. With extensive entertainment accomplishments and an unequivocal passion for music to guide her, Yvette returned to the studio during 1998, both focused and determined to record in Spanish and English. In October 1999, the creators of Pokemon asked her to record " Misty's Song" on their 2BA Master CD. Her diligence was rewarded when the CD went triple platinum and she received a Billboard music award for "Best Vocalist For Kid Audio" category. As an added accomplishment to this project, Misty's Song became the most requested song on the CD. Most recently, performing at Caroline's Comedy Club, she toured several U.S. clubs, the AIDS benefit at the Helen Hayes Theatre, Hispanic Heritage Day and Puerto Rican Discovery Day which was sponsored by the Queens Borough President held at the Queens Theatre in the park in New York City, Yvette once again epitomized the rhythmic heartbeat of New York City.
