khaossia Ethno Ensemble Salentina

The Ethno Ensemble Khaossia was born in 2005 in Cremona on demand of some Public Organizations and some aeger people, who love the folk music of the South Italy, to have even in the Lombard city a band which could perform Salento and its musical traditions. The band is formed by specialized musicians in different genres, for example the ethnic one, in particolar focused on the Salento's ancient music. Khaossia aim to let many different musical traditions to meet and mixed together, starting from a marvelous love of the Irish and the Ellenic music. The interest to the space becomes stronger because of the attention and the respect of the time the band deals with, suggesting new version of the oldest sounds, still forgotten. As background of the new kind of approaching this traditional music of the South there is the deep knowledge of the historic, geographic and social panorama in which it grews up. Khaossia works with the permanent Project of the Young Politics Council of Cremona House, called "Attraversarte", which allowed the band to organised live performances, dance and music stages and to record the soundtrack of the promotional video. The Ensemble has had great success among the most famous musical critics back, such as Folker, Folkbuletin, Radio Popolare and Radio Onda d'Urto. The audience likes Khaossia so much, that it numbers many performances abroad, such as in Croatia and in Paris, but also in Italy, playing in the most important folk musical fairs such as La Notte della Taranta 2005, Appennino Folk Festival 2007 and Isola Folk 2007 as well.
