noughts and exes began in 2007 as a little side project to help fill idle time... it quickly developed into a full band lineup and released their debut album "act one, scene one". Two years later the two lead song writers, Joshua Wong and Gideon So, came together with a new vision and sound for the band... opting to rebuild the band from ground up, they stripped away all other noises and focused on a more intimate and natural sound. Beginning with only piano, vocals and acoustic guitar, they began to mold what would soon become the new sound of noughts and exes. With the addition of Kerrie-Anne on vocals, glockenspiel and percussion, and Alex Bedwell on drums, they began to sculpt a sound that was in some way unique or distinct... but it wasn't until the addition of Marianne Bunton on cello that their flavour started to really settle. now, from 5piece, to 2piece to 5piece again, noughts and exes have found a body of musicians and songs that they can build something truly beautiful with.
