One of the finest Indian classical vocalists of the younger generation and the only vocalist to perform Hindustani classical vocal and world vocal music since her 20s, Shwetã Jhaveri is a performer of the north Indian classical vocal form Khayãl and the other Hindustani forms. Born in Ahmedabad-India "Shweta is the premier female vocalist from Gujarat-India to perform classical music internationally since her age of 19"- The Gujarat State Academy. Since her mid twenties, she has garnered renown as a mesmerizing vocalist to record & perform Hindustani classical music with purity and innovative world music based on khayals & ragas with world musicians. Her beautiful stage presence has delighted audiences worldover. Beginning at the age of 6, Shweta studied vocal music & specialized in Prabandh and the north Indian classical vocal forms like Khayal, Tappa, Thumri, Dhrupad, Dhamar under the guidance of late Pt.Vilasrao Khandekar in Ahmedabad-India, with a special aptitude in the Khayãl form. Shweta further studied from the world renowned vocalist Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasrajji. Born to a surgeon father & literary mother, she grew up in a highly cultured environment.
