Well-known CCM (contemporary christian music) singer Sohyang left a powerful impact with her speechless cover of Whitney Houston‘s “I Have Nothing“. On the July 8th episode of “I Am a Singer 2″, Sohyang caused the audience to have shivers down the spine during her first performance on the show. Before her performance she stated, “This is the first time I am introducing myself to the public and therefore I had a hard time deciding on what to sing for my first stage. I was able to transpose “I Have Nothing” to fit my style.” She added on, “I hope I can get into the top 3. Because the public does not know me that much, I hope my performance can be a chance for me to engage with the audience and get to know each other more.” When Sohyang finally stood on stage, no one would have thought it was her first time or that she was nervous, as the singer brought one of the most impacting performances in “I Am a Singer 2″ history. Sohyang, who also appeared on SBS ‘Star King‘ and did a collaboration with Park Jung Hyun and Big Mama‘s Lee Young Hyun, showed off her unbelievable vocal range and emotional expression. The audience were amazed by her vocals and gave the singer a standing ovation. At the end, Sohyang was able to receive first place and will now compete for the next round. She claimed, “I feel that I could have done better. I really wanted to show my best to the audience but I feel disappointed. I should have controlled myself more“. Read more on Last.fm.
