1. Hailing from Zimbabwe, Bantu’s music and visuals reflect his multicultural background, with a collage of infectious sounds, rhythms, and stories. Bantu premiered his first track as an artist in 2016 with his single “Holiday,” an uptempo love song that fused bright electronic club sounds with African rhythms. Since then, he released his first EP “Africa for the Summer” in 2017, including his single “Roll With Me.” This summer, Bantu is gearing up for the release of his second EP, “Africa for the Summer 2,” a continuation of his signature tribal, upbeat, and rhythmic sound. “Just a Little,” his first single from his latest EP already has gained traction; it is currently featured in the Netflix hit series “On My Block. His latest release, “Jackie Chan,” is an upbeat danceable track that features his frequent collaborator and friend Dr. Chaii, who also is from Zimbabwe. The two teamed up together for this summer feel-good track, a nice introduction for what else is to come on EP 2! Beyond his own artist project, Bantu also has produced and written for some of the worlds biggest artists. His credits include: Jason Derulo's single "Tip Toe" feat. French Montana which hit #5 on the UK charts, "Whiskey" by Maroon 5 feat. A$ap Rocky, “Hey Ma” by J Balvin, Camila Cabello and Pitbull from the Fast+Furious 8 Soundtrack that was also nominated for a Latin Grammy this past year, "Say My Name" by Tove Styrke, “Getting Over You” by LAUV, and past cuts with Rita Ora, Chris Brown. 2. BANTU is a 13-piece musical collective founded by Ade Bantu. The band features multi-instrumentalists and singers who perform as a collective. Their music is an eclectic fusion of the rich cultural heritage of the Yorubas and hybrid Sounds of the Afropolitan movement. Social consciousness, satire and personal stories constitute an essential element of their message and music, which they use to inspire both the minds and hips of their listeners. BANTUemerged on the Nigerian musical scene in 1999 with their catchy dance single, “Nzogbu”. Since then, the collective has had a string of radio hits which earned them a loyal following and fan base both within and outside the continent. They have received numerous awards amongst them the prestigious Pan African Kora Award for “Best Group Africa”. BANTU has recorded with UB40, Gentleman, Patrice, Nneka, Tony Allen, Harry Belafonte, Brothers Keepers, Fatai Rolling Dollar, Orlando Julius, Asa, Ebenzer Obey, & many others. They have toured extensively in Europe and Africa. Since 2013 BANTU has been hosting “Afropolitan Vibes” a monthly concert series at Freedom Park, a former colonial prison in the heart of Lagos. Afropolitan Vibes was recently voted as “one of the world's best music events of the moment “ by The Village Voice. BANTU have just completed work on their 6th Studio album titled “Agbero’s International” Read more on Last.fm.
