Band Members: David Lyle (Singer/Songwriter/Lead Guitarist) Matt Venegoni (Rhythm Guitar) Nick Lyle (Drums) Jordan Myer (Bass) The American Dream is alive and well and rocking in the heartland of America, Kansas City. This is the story of four young rockers living the dream together. The band is Black Oxygen and their mission is simple, play good ole rock n’ roll with a young man’s swagger. The band is comprised of four uniquely individual members that happen to be all best friends. Their friendship was formed before they ever embarked on their musical journey. The band leader is David Lyle Singer/Songwriter/Lead Guitarist, Nick Lyle younger brother on Drums, Matt Venegoni on Rhythm Guitar and Jordan Myer on Bass. The chemistry of this young band of friends is definitely not manufactured. Black Oxygen and David Lyle burst onto the music scene in 2005 and has been blazing a musical trail ever since. It was David Lyle’s flashy yet bluesy guitar licks at a young age that caught the attention of those in the KC music scene. In 2007 they won a local battle of the bands competition and in 2008 David was named best guitarist. This helped launch the band and allowed them to share the stage with bands such as Sick Puppies, Skid Row, Hurt, The Veer Union, Veins of Jenna and more. It only takes a minute of David’s company to appreciate his singular vision and focus. This is even more appreciated as the band went through several lineup changes over the course of its evolution. It was David’s decision to take his future and place it squarely in his own hands that Black Oxygen came full circle to where it is today. David decided to take over all of the song writing and singing responsibilities in mid 2010. This was a bold decision that left many wondering if he could pull it off. So how would you describe Black Oxygen? Young yet Familiar. There is something for everyone on their debut release called “The American Dream.” There are times where you hear and feel the influence of their favorite artists Gun’s N Roses, Foo Fighters, Velvet Revolver, Kid Rock and many others. This is a great Rock band that just happens to be young. "The American Dream" is coming to a venue near you in 2012. "We were kids that had a Dream to live for a reason," David Lyle. Come be a part of "The American Dream." Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
