Buddy Akai has been making the high heeled, converse stomping, electro popping kiddies dance to their rocking beats since February of 2005, . Their sound can be described as a mix of indie/electro/rock. Their mix of samples, sequences, arpegiated synths and processed vocals holds both a dance and rock influence. 2008 has brought great things for this indie electro rock quartet. They have recently opened up for big name artist like MSTRKRFT, The Bravery, VHS or Beta, Chromeo, Common, and many others. The release of "Cut Me Up" Villains remix took the indie club scene by storm, which broadened Buddy Akai's appeal. Additionally, 2008 has brought them a nomination for the San Diego Music Awards (to be held in September) and their sold Out performance at the 2008 North By North Park Festival has solidified there importance in the Southern California music scene. Their show is a must see, an electrifying and energetic experience. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
