Cigaretta was a Bulgarian group, much similar to Placebo, and A Perfect Circle. Their album "14 SongS" was released 2 years ago by the Bulgarian label Stain Studio. Their latest disc was released (again by Stain Studio) in 2006 and is called "Pluke", the record is conceptually linked to the russian comedy-sci fi movie "Kin-Dza-Dza. The style of Cigaretta is hard to be explained. The guys themselves call it "doomy blues, that makes you go out in the rain and get wet to the bone, right after you've been dried off". Cigaretta used to be seen at club "Petnoto", Plovdiv, and club Alcohol, Sofia. They played on the MTV Exit show in Sofia with Ostava and Nova Generacia as a support for Ian Brown. Band members: Vla_DOOM - vo_calls_&_vi_chords Klim_END - iv_chords D_ECHO - vi_chords Mic_HAIL - per_cushions Bo_BETZ - prog_ramming THE BEGINNING Mr. _Doom: "It's the same as then and now - mostly painful, sometimes amusing." I. Alokin: "And yet, didnt it all start about a decade ago? In the ancient town of Serdika, known at present as Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria?" THE NAME Velissa V.: "Oh, yes, Cigarettas members are smokers. Heavy smokers..." I. Alokin: "Oh, no, they didn't choose the bands name because of this. Not at all." THE PHILOSOPHY Mr. _Doom: "It hides in the effort to make things in a different way - not just the music, but especially its preparation. If the preparation is ok, the music turns out fine as well." THE MUSIC Rhythm Magazine: "Music that makes you wanna go out in the rain and get wet after youve just dried up." THE INSPIRATIONS Mr. _Doom: "Pure rage. Pure anger. Pure malice. Pure fear." "14 DEMOS" Velissa V.: "Thats the bands debut release, self-unleashed in 2002, right? It sounded..." Literature Newspaper: "sometimes Tool-ish, sometimes Placebo-esque." "14 SONGS" I. Alokin: "Ah, the bluish album. Cigarettas firstborn... officially. Play it and..." Tokkata: "...youll drown in the magic of something new... Tune by tune, song by song... 14 songS... You feel there's a change coming. Over you... mercilessly... plunging you into a rhythm of doom..." THE SEQUEL Mr. _Doom: "...14 albums, 14 live musicians, 14 love letters, 14 reasons to stay alive..." Velissa V.: "...and "Pluke"!" "PLUKE" -> The title of Cigarettas second full-length studio album. -> Recorded from August to November 2005 at The Temple of _Doom, Sofia, Bulgaria. -> Mixed and mastered at Stain Studio from December 2005 to February 2006. -> Was unleashed upon the music market in March 2006 by Stain Studio. -> Pluke - a desert planet in a lunatic Soviet Union movie. Q! (a curse) and koo (everything else) are the main words (t)here. -> Q! -> Pluke contains not 14, but 16 songS. Read more on Last.fm.
