Club of the Sons is an experimental soul band based out of New Orleans, Lousiana, started by Adam LaClave, former frontman of Christian rock band Earthsuit and Jonathan Allen, one-time bassist for electro rock act Mute Math. Founders Adam LaClave and Jonathan Allen were both members of the New Orleans-based new wave indie band MACROSICK when Hurricane Katrina forced the members of the band to relocate. With MACROSICK effectively on hiatus, LaClave and Allen took the opportunity to make a departure from Macrosick's 80's sound, and embraced a combination of soul music and glam rock influences to form a sample-based, experimental genre that they term "odd soul". LaClave has also described the sound as "Bowie goes black gospel". The band independently released a 6-track EP affectionately known as the Diamond EP co-produced with Paul Meany of Mute Math. Former [artsit]Earthsuit drummer David "Hutch" Hutchison joined in early 2006. Club Of The Sons toured intermittently throughout 2006 opening for Mute Math, Jonezetta, & The Whigs in Fall 2006. The tour marked the first time that Adam LaClave, David Hutchison, Paul Meany, and Roy Mitchell reunited since the dissolution of Earthsuit. A new release is scheduled for Spring 2007. Members: Adam LaClave aka "Chuck Famous" - lead vocals, songwriter, producer Jonathan Allen aka "Bface Watkins" - bassist, samples, songwriter, producer David Hutchison aka "Hutch" - drums Mark Coston aka "Apollo Gospy" - background vocals, keys Read more on Last.fm.
