Cold Fronts are from Philadelphia. They are working on their second EP with Kyle Slick Johnson (the Hives, Wavves, Cymbals Eat Guitars, Modest Mouse). The songs on the album are some of the bands most ambitious work to date. It has been described by members as “raw”. Craig Almquist writes the songs and Alex Smith drums on them. The other two dudes change from time to time but currently Peter Helmis is on bass and Chris Baglivo (Doc Bag) is on guitar. The band formed in 2011 and started performing shows/Dionysian Rites in West Philly at the infamous Rathaus, which was dubbed “Satan’s dorm room” in the Philadelphia papers. The Rat was converted into fancy condos after two years of hard partying. Boo. By 2012 the band had been supporting act for mewithoutYou, Free Energy, The Morning Benders, The Gay Blades, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr, + Vacationer. They recorded a Daytrotter Session and played a string of SXSW shows after camping (in a tent) in downtown Austin. One time Andrew W.K. destroyed their drum set. The band will be on the road in 2013, doing what bands do, playing live shows of material they have recorded. They will also def be eating pizza. Lots of pizza. Read more on Last.fm.
