Abe Dichi, born in Mexico city, left at an early age to live in Texas for his early childhood then moved back to Mexico City for his remaining adolescence. In 1997 he left Mexico to live in Israel, France and Spain. In 2000 He went to the U.S and ended up in San Francisco. He hooked up with a local label and in 2004 he released a 7” on the n5MD imprint entitled Pesero which was a glitch beat heavy outing that primed Damiak as an artist to watch. Shortly after the 7” Dichi released 2 tracks on the Konstrukt Collective’s IONS compilation. Dichi then spent several years re-learning some instruments from his youth in addition to learning even more instruments to record his debut album that features a multitude of musical styles and techniques. This album entitled Micalavera (which loosely translates to “my skeleton”) released in the spring 2007 by n5MD ,features Dichi’s take on electronic, electro acoustic and instrumental music in a cohesive whole that is an authentic, warm and multi-faceted work of musical craftsmanship.
