Dan Michaelson is lead singer of the critically acclaimed and suprisingly popular band Absentee. In September 2007 whilst waiting to record the next Absentee album (now being recorded in their East London home from home, The Premises) he decided to start work on a solo album. After several embarassing phone calls and the odd spelling mistake, renowned Icelandic producer Valgier Sigurdsson (Björk, Bonnie "Prince" Billy, Sigur Ròs) came over to stay in London and produce the tracks Michaelson had written. Quite surprised that he was interested, Dan Michaelson said "Holy shit, i better get a band together" and quickly fooled some of London's best players into working with him. Among those appearing on the record are: Henry (from the band Fields), Arnulf (KT Tunstall), Tom & Henry (Rumblestrips) and Valgier himself playing various parts of the piano. 8 tracks have been completed and more work will continue until the end of the year.
