Double Beat was formed in early 2004, when Stefano Ghittoni and Marco Rigamonti met in one of Milano's best clubs, Magazzini Generali. Stefano Ghittoni is a dj, producer and Big Sur Recordings' manager. Since 1996 he is resident dj at Magazzini Generali in Milano every wednesday night. His dj set is a mix of funk, electronic jazz and a mesmerizing selection of deep house and techno that come together to create a quality, structured rhytmic ambiance. His selections are as eclectic and peculiar as his musical background: he has been involved in the eighties' punk and new wave scenes, then was the singer of the psychedelic band "Peter Sellers and the Hollywood Party"(1984-1991), and was part of the ambient techno movements of the following years as "Outoff Body Experience". Furthermore, he was one of the very first in Italy to include drum n' bass and jungle sonorities in his diverse dj sets. In 1998 he founded 'The Dining Rooms' with Cesare Malfatti (La Crus). The duo has so far reached its fifth studio album and reviews are always very positive from both the public and critics. In early 2003 he created "Vuca" with Stefano Tirone (S-Tone Inc.). Their first release hits the shelves in April that year; it is a scorching hot jazz dancefloor rocker 12" out on Schema Records. Since early 2004 he is running Big Sur Recordings, a Schema records sub-label that proposes an uptempo jazz, funk, afro house selection. Among the hand-picked selection of artists one can find 'Double Beat', another Stefano Ghittoni side project in close collaboration with Marco Rigamonti. Marco Rigamonti is a dj/producer whose musical influences can be traced back to the nineties, when bands like Prodigy and Chemical Brothers started merging rock, old school and electronic music creating new styles and concepts that will deeply affect the evolution of house music; from 1996 he started deejaying in lots of different clubs in Milano and by 2002 he finally reached Magazzini Generali, the place where he's resident dj nowadays. His classical background (he started taking piano lessons when he was 8 years old) combined with his passion for modern music inevitably lead him to try and produce electronic music himself; his bedroom-dj productions (some of which have been played on european radio shows) can be found on the net under the moniker "Blueglue". In 2004 he remixed Aloud, Dino Lenny and Bugz In The Attic as "Draw The Line" and since 2005 he's also half of the duo "The Voidz" with his friend Andrea Bertolini (dj and Stereoseven A&R).
