EchoDroides is a collaboration between Chicago natives Frank De La Mora & Trancid (Miguel Martin). Their sound is synthpop with a flavor of Italo and Nu Disco. Their music’s influences come largely from geniuses like Giorgio Moroder, Vince Clarke, Alexander Robotnik and Telex just to name a few. Frank and Miguel have been good friends for a long time. Being involved in the music scene for many years in their respective ways. Frank is an accomplished musician & songwriter, having played keyboards on Platinum recording artist, Disturbed’s debut album and heading a couple of bands, Echonine & The Guardians. Miguel is a DJ having traveled all over the country and various spots around the world as part of Dark Wave Disco and spun at Lollapalooza in 2009. He has played alongside countless artists such as Primal Scream, Ladytron, Felix Da Housecat, Cut Copy and many more throughout the years. They always talked about working together on music, but clashing schedules prevented it from happening. Finally in the spring of 2011 they got together and decided to start working on some remixes for California’s “The New Division” and Chicago’s “Comasoft”. After finishing them up, they figured why not take a shot at seeing what kind of original stuff they can come up with. The result was a completed EP, titled Telescopic, which was picked up by Chicago’s Hot Dog Records and released in March 2012. Their follow up releases are a single titled "Vortex" which came out on June 19, 2012, and an EP titled Umbra set for Fall 2012. Read more on Last.fm.
