FAIRY FORE began as FIR~REFORLE in 1994. There were three members at the time: REI (vocals), YASU (bass) and YOKO (drums), as well as support member SYU (guitar). SYU left about six months after their first live, to be replaced by a series of support and full time guitarists. (AKIHIDE and JUN being the two most notable.) In 1996, YUHKI joined them as full time guitarist and stayed with them for the next two years. During this time REI changed his name to TAKASHI and they released a mess of demotapes, both for sale and free at lives. In 1998, YUHKI was switched out for AKIHIDE. (There was literally a two day gap between YUHKI's last live with them and AKIHIDE's first. YUHKI joined up with JUN, whom Akihide had been in a band with previous to FAIRY FORE.) During the next two years they released more demotapes, and the band was featured on a compilation album titled CROSS*D LOVERS. In 2000, they changed their name to FAIRY FORE. Also in 2000, they also participated in SWEET TRANCE, a live event held by their new management company, SWEET CHILD, and had their first proper CD release, LOOP. Sometime in between those two events, TAKASHI changed his name one last time to his full name, 現王園崇 (Gen'ouzono Takashi). The next year they had their major label debut on avex with their first single, LOVE SICK. They stayed on avex for about two years, releasing four more singles (VIVID, BODY DOUBLE, ジェット (JETTO/Jet) and Darling) and an album (HEAVEN'S MARKET). They were dropped by avex shortly after the release of Darling in 2003. Then in September, AKIHIDE left the band to start a new project, (NEVER LAND). The band quickly recruited some new (and not so new) support guitarists. SHU (previously SYU) played with them again, as well as newcomers 藤原榮治 (Eiji Fujiwara) (ex-Vivid), 慶太 (Keita) and タイト (TAITO). They recorded their final single, youphilous, with Eiji and SHU, and Eiji soon after joined them as a full time member. They managed to record their first and only DVD while Eiji was with them, SPICE SHOWER. Eiji left them in July of 2004, and from then on they used only support members. Eventually TAITO became a main fixture, even though he never officially joined the band. After a couple of unofficial live releases, the released their final album, この花が咲いて枯れるまで (kono hana ga saite kareru made) in May of 2005. The title translates to "this flower blooms until it dies," and in the case, underneath the disc was the longer phrase "this flower blooms and until it dies we will continue to water it," and on the booklet, in English, were the words "Never too late." The words sounded hopeful, but what they really meant was that the band was coming to the end of its life. After one last tour (titled "Never too late"), they announced they would be disbanding, doing one more final tour (~Thank you for your million smile~) in the fall of 2005, wrapping it up on December 11 at the same venue they had their first live in, THE PLAY HOUSE in Machida. Since the disbandment, the members have moved onto various projects. YASU played support for BEAUTY MANIACS and eventually joined acalli before quietly retiring from music in 2007. YOKO has pursued various support gigs and bands, including Orpheus (with JUN and YUUKI), before joining up with Takashi and YUUKI to form uBuGoe in 2008. Read more on Last.fm.
