Flowers From The Man Who Shot Your Cousin is essentially Morgan Caris. For a good many years now he has been writing and recording songs, some of which have been released on LPs and compilations mostly in Spain and Japan, but Hapless is the first solo album of his to see the light of dusk. Released in 2006 on Waterhouse Records in France, it has been said to be a stark and arguably intense piece of work. Reminiscent of early Leonard Cohen or late Nick Drake records, for its soft melodies, quiet guitars and bare arrangements, it also evokes Smog or the Silver Jews for its bone dry and sometimes darkly sarcastic lyrics.
