There are 2 bands with the name Gomer Pyle: 1. A Dutch stoner rock band: Holland's GOMER PYLE have caused quite a stir with their latest album, "Idiots Savants" and stunning live performances. Featuring former 35007 drummer Sander Evers, and firmly rooted in Grunge and Stoner, the band tends also to veer off into heavy rocking jamming psychedelia and full blown 35007 Krautrock territory. Deep space liquid trip guitars and killer riffs lead the way as they travel roads paved by acid drenched rock and old time psych. Things get rhythmically cosmic, keeping a nice rolling groove going as the dual, heavy fuzz guitars and drums explore the cosmos in a high intensity workout. Since february 2011 Drummer Sander Evers left Gomer Pyle and is no longer a member of the group. 2. A Swedish pop act from Lund and Malmö. The band started in 2002 when lead singer and guitarist Stefan Lynggaard teamed up with bassist Fredrik Hanell. The duo released one demo recording. Simon Thorsander joined on drums, and later Petter Ericsson on guitar. This constellation released a second demo. Simon Thorsander left the band in 2007. GP released the EP "Somewhere in Copenhagen" in 2008. Songwriter Stefan Lynggaard is influenced by i.e. Catherine Wheel. Read more on Last.fm.
