Raised by lemurs in the jungles of Madagascar, Chris Hansen (Grandpa Mojo) was singled out by fellow children as strange, uninteresting, and "smelly". Driven in to isolation because of his differences, he began indulging in paper boat building and hat diving - both terribly dangerous and illegal in his country at that time. When a passing Bavarian circus noticed his odd talents, they offered him a job as a chair catcher and took him on the road with them. Never looking back, Chris adopted the name "Grandpa Mojo" as a way to discredit his immense talents and also as a way to dissuade local tax officials from buying him expensive loafers. Once he arrived in America (June 2002), he immediately began waving at all yellow cabs in New York city. He is presented here not as an artist - but as a tremendous practical joke. God help you if you should dare to check out his website. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
