Claude Violante and Toni Special met in Paris and created the band Haussmann in 2007. Haussmann creates a very liberating, dreamy and intriguing kind of music, with an undercurrent of ideas, such as a melancholic picture of pop. Their songs are informed by the history of French music, and reveal an ambivalent fascination with dance, love and death hymns.
