Since their formation during the spring of 2005, Heart-Set Self-Destruct has become a staple in the Chicago Hard Rock scene. Melodic lead vocals combined with elements of punk and metal influence the band’s heavy driven sound. After playing several succesful gigs in Chicago at the Double Door, Subterranean, and the Beat Kitchen, the band headed into the studio at the end of 2006 to record their debut album "Victims Like Me" with Producer Dan Malsch (Framing Hanley, Tantric) at the Soundmine Recording Studio in East Stroudsburg, Pa. "Victims" was released on May 12th, 2007 and would later prove to be a success for HSSD going on to independently sell over five thousand copies and landing the band several dates on the Vans Warped Tour in 2008. Since then the band has played all over the midwest with national acts Powerman 5000, Cold, Red, Saliva, Flyleaf, Framing Hanley, Soil, Story of the Year, The Veer Union, Taproot, Flaw, The Exies, Trust Company, Janus, and Pop Evil. While touring the midwest regionally, the band was still able to maintain a presence in Chicago playing to packed houses with regular appearances at the Cubby Bear, Metro, House of Blues and the Beat Kitchen. During the summer and fall of 2010 the band recorded fifteen songs for a follow- up full-length record to "Victims Like Me". The new record "Of Nightmares" comes out on June 21, 2011 via producer Dan Malsch's label Soundmine Musicworks. The first single “Monster” hits radio spring 2011. This haunting song gives a glimpse into the mind of a tortured soul who craves and feeds on other people's pain. With a massive buzz following their recent success, Heart-Set-Self- Destruct looks to bring their intense energy driven show to world Read more on Last.fm.
