There are more than one artist named Jesse Thomas. One is a female singer and the other is a lifelong blues musician. The two are mentioned below in that order. I. Jesse Thomas is a redheaded firecracker from Kentucky, whose whiskey soaked soul drips into every song that she sings. She released her first full-length album, War Dancer, on Valentines Day. In late 2008, with no money to her name, Jesse headed for Los Angeles. Alone. After a few open mic nights in the Valley and some raw demo recordings, she caught the attention of producer Jim Roach at Red Parade Music Group. Jim found something special in Jesse that countless others would soon come to recognize: A hilarious yet poignant personality shining through that smoky, battle scarred voice. Jesse wrapped up her debut “Hazel EP" in the spring of 2010 for release in September. The EP debuted in the Top Ten on iTunes’ singer/songwriter chart and was featured there as both a "New and Noteworthy" and "Indie Spotlight" release. Come February 2011, her song "You I Want" was featured at Starbucks retail stores in the US and Canada as their "Pick of the Week.” "Stay," also off the EP, became a YouTube sensation after being used in Teen Nick's "Degrassi." Jesse performed at the Hotel Cafe Showcase during SXSW 2011 and has opened for the likes of John Mayer, Cary Brothers, Crash Kings, Owl City, Lights, and Angel Taylor. Through her live performances and home videos, Jesse’s unique brand of gritty charm has gained her many fans and made her debut record highly anticipated. War Dancer arrived on February 14, 2012. The LP is named after a shop on the corner of "Jesse Street" & Victory Boulevard." See her at this years SXSW at the Hotel Cafe Showcase. II. Jesse Thomas (musician) From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesse_Thomas_%28musician%29) Jesse "Babyface" Thomas (February 3, 1911 - August 15, 1995) was an American Texas blues guitarist and singer. Known at different times as "Baby Face" or "Mule", and occasionally billed as "The Blues Troubadour", Jesse Thomas popped up all over the blues map in his eight decade career. Career Born in Logansport, Louisiana, United States, Thomas is best known for the song "Blue Goose Blues", which he recorded for Victor in 1929. His clipped, dry-toned guitar-playing, which sound rather meagre on "Blue Goose Blues", gained greatly from amplification, and his 1940s-1950s recordings, mostly made in Los Angeles, California, are fascinatingly varied responses to tradition and innovation. In 1953, for instance, on a Speciality single, he coupled a minor key blues in the current West Coast idiom, "When You Say I Love You", with a re-examination of the old Texas gambling song, "Jack of Diamonds" - an entirely characteristic gesture. In 1994 he appeared at the Long Beach Blues Festival. He had a long musical career spanning over 60 years, continuing to perform until his death. The Texas bluesman, Ramblin' Thomas, was his brother, and fellow Louisiana blues guitar player, Lafayette Thomas, was his nephew. A longtime resident of the Lakeside neighborhood of Shreveport, Louisiana, Thomas died there on August 15, 1995 at the age of 84.
