Jungle Funk is the synthesis of some top notch studio and gigging professionals from the late 80's and early 90's. Although a 3 piece, Jungle Funk has a much bigger sound than one would expect due to their seamless meshing of loops, samples and effects into a live a peformance. Composed of the rhythm section from Living Colour (Will Calhoun on drums, loops, etc, studio/effects ace Doug Wimbish) and vocalist Vinx, Jungle Funk recorded an eponymous album and released it 1999. The album features live and studio tracks and highlights how technology, musicianship and technical accumen can be combined to produce a effort that deserves many listens to truly grasp the layers of sound.
