The band Konkurent is founded in the year 1986 by Emil Anchev. They have produced five albums and have hundreds of concerts in the country and abroad including performances whit White Snake during the visit of David Coverdale in Sofia in 1997 and Glen Hughes – 2005. During their participation in the World Music Fair festival they sing next to bands like Scorpions, Toto, Rammstein, Iron Maiden,Yngwie Malmsteen and many others. They sing with Deep Purple on the prestige festival Montreux Jazz Fest where they have been invited two years in roll. During 1996 the French music television MCM plays two video clips of the band - "Do You Wanna" and "Leave Me Alone", which are then nominated for a video clip from Eastern Europe award on the MCM awards, and the band itself for the Rock Band from Eastern Europe award. During 1997 Konkurent wins the award Best Rock Band from Bulgaria on the “National Pop and Rock Awards” organized by BNT. Later the band presents their album called “Something Wet” on the international music fair World Music Fair in Germany which brings them world fame. In December 2002 Riva Sound releases their fifth album called “Escape from Heaven” with the hit singles “Come back” and “Streat of dreams”. There are video clips made for these songs. During 2006 the group celebrates 20 years history and went on a national tour and releases a CD “The Best of Konkurent”. Read more on Last.fm.
