Miroslav Šmajda (born 27 November 1988 in Košice, Slovakia) is a Slovak male singer, most notable for his participation on the Česko-Slovenská Superstar (based on UK Pop Idol), being ranked on the second place. On 16 November 2011, it was announced by Rozhlas a televízia Slovenska (RTVS), that Šmajda will represent Slovakia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012. Though later reports of misinformation surfaced and caused confusion, in the end it was Miro and his band under the name Max Jason Mai that will represent the country in Eurovision 2012 in Baku with the song 'Don't Close Your Eyes'.
