Forming under their open-ended moniker in 2006, Christian Ledwell, Mike Carver, Justin Uyterlinde, and Brandon Williams have released three EPs of indie-rock, art-pop and garage as Milks & Rectangles. Their self-titled album was written and recorded over the past year as band members fell into a range of pursuits after graduation, such as joining the coast guard, veterinary school, and becoming members in fellow Charlottetown bands Boxer the Horse and North Lakes. Milks & Rectangles was produced and co-engineered by Daniel Ledwell (Jenn Grant, In-Flight Safety). With engineering at Halifax’s Echo Chamber by Charles Austin and James O’Toole, the album shows a larger stylistic range for the band with influence from the Halifax experimental indie scene and the band’s growing obsession with ‘60s pop.
