Seattle, WA - With three years under their belt, Seattle-based Alternative Rock band New Heights released their second EP 'Worlds' this past June 08'. The EP draws on issues bigger than anything the band has ever sung about expressed bassist, Chris Kwak. "We wanted to write songs for this album that would move our audience towards a cause so much bigger than ourselves." The band's first single 'We Are The Ones' is a message of that same urgency and responsibility that is brought to its listeners. 'We Are The Ones' inspires listeners to wake up from apathy and become a generation of revolutionaries. The song is colored with cutting lead guitar lines (hinting a U2 and Coldplay influence) and a powerful, melodic chorus to create a repeating anthem throughout the song. Strong melodies and catchy choruses have brought New Heights a lot of attention from various industry representatives even before the release of their new EP. It was not far from their minds while they were recording “Worlds” this year. "We wanted to show growth melodically and lyrically on this CD compared to our first one, so we spent a lot of time working and crafting the melodies and allowed them to really mature" said frontman, Travis Graham. 'Worlds' is a strong representation of the direction the band is heading towards musically. Since the summer of 05', the band has put out one demo CD along with one self-titled EP. New Heights’ first self-titled EP, was released back in January of 2007 and was released digitally worldwide through iTunes, Amazon, Napster, Rhapsody, etc. Despite the changes that have brought New Heights from an Acoustic-Rock band with six members to now an Alternative-Rock quartet, their message of truth remains close to their heart. Their sound has been compared to bands such as Lifehouse, One Republic, and Switchfoot. Read more on Last.fm.
