QUODIA is a multimedia performance group that tells stories through film, animation, live music, spoken word and sound design. Using video projection, with filmed actors, and live instruments - including 10 string touch guitar, keyboards, and electronic percussion - QUODIA weaves an intricate tale that engages and draws upon the viewer’s imagination much like an adult storybook. The performance experience is part movie, part theater, and part concert. Featured Performers: Trey Gunn (King Crimson) & Joe Mendelson (Rise Robots Rise) QUODIA is currently touring The Arrow. Divided into seven chapters, The Arrow gives rise to myth-like characters who seem to exist outside of time: A boy who finds a gold hand, a woman who consumes water to her own undoing, a dark presence that builds sculptures in the forest, six plotting birds... The Arrow was recently released on CD/DVD through 7d Media. Guests on the recordings include Regina Spektor, Azam Ali, Matt Chamberlain and Pat Mastelotto. “QUODIA is an advanced step in the tradition that unites Literature and Music. Channeling both Brian Eno and Jack Kerouac, they unfold an elegant spectacle, telling histories with surprise, mystery, fear, and salvation. QUODIA is a loaded weapon of the future." - Toma Review / Santiago, Chile “It's rare that a concept this expansive manages to work on every level and in every sensory form, but The Arrow succeeds as an audio-only CD, as a DVD that incorporates animations and printed words for emphasis and as a concert experience. On all fronts it is completely captivating and an undeniable triumph." - John Kelman / All About Jazz Since its inception QUODIA has performed in Russia, Italy, Spain, Argentina, Chile, and Norway, in addition to performances in the US including the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, Seattle’s Cornish College of the Arts, and the Northwest Film Forum.
