Ravage! Ravage! is an electronic-pop threesome from The Netherlands. They “eat glass candy, swing like Siouxsie and splice their synthpop with distorted guitars”, and, according to Dutch online multimedia channel 3voor12, bring "Ibiza entertainment from hell". More: www.ravageravage.com www.facebook.com/ravageravage www.soundcloud.com/ravageravage www.youtube.com/ravageravage They've played live in places like London, Berlin and Milan, and all over the Netherlands at events such as the Amsterdam Fashion Week, Arnhem Mode Biënnale, Incubate, Subbacultcha! presents, and supporting like-minded bands Vive la Fête, Lebanon Hanover and Light Asylum, with live visuals, or backed by performers such as Million Dollar Kids and Leendert Doremifasolatilo. In 2011, they released their first EP, ‘Blisters’. The EP came along with a video for its title track, directed and animated by Max Italiaander, which ended up on the playlist of various MTV channels for several months. This year sees the release of their second EP, ‘Trick Mirror’, which is supported by a video directed by David van Woerden, featuring Dutch actress Lisa Smit, along with a cast of almost 40, cherry-picked out of the Amsterdam nightlife scene by Ravage! Ravage!, plus fashion by Jan Boelo. ‘Trick Mirror’, like ‘Blisters’, was mixed by Blokgolf (Auke Riemersma of Auxiliary tha Masterfader and Jeroen Joosten of Sumera) and mastered in London by the late Nilesh Patel (who has previously mastered recent albums by Crystal Castles, New Young Pony Club and The Kills). Remixes come from the likes of Sick Boy, Roxteady Mark, Yes...PinkPink, Ray Grant, Machinegewehr and GERAN. Ravage! Ravage! also does DJ sets, and has done so at, amongst other places, Club Up, Club8, Winston Kingdom, OT301, Flexbar, Meneer Malasch, Paard van Troje, Guy Tavares' Dystopia and Sugar Factory. Quotes, quotes, quotes... “A very danceable blend of new and cold-wave” - Subbacultcha! “A mélange of electronic-glam noise and courtesan attitudes that wouldn’t have shamed the court of Charles II. Despite having a blazing attitude that is off kilter with much of what’s around in level-headed Holland at the moment, this is a glossy Gothicke pop band of the highest tradition.” - ELLE Nederland “The band's Glitter Goth cabaret convinced the crowd. Equal amounts Noël Coward and Marc Almond. This was the sort of show that would have gone down a treat at the Colony Club; redolent of red plush and fag smoke and back biting. Ravage! Ravage! boast some fine tunes: they have an orchestral sweep about their music and the rhythm section built up a powerful and impressionistic backdrop that dovetailed nicely with the singer’s quips. A triumph...” - Incendiary Magazine “What are people in the Netherlands really into if not the synth music you play?” - Shannon Funchess (Light Asylum) “You rock!” - Danny (Vive la Fête) “Great music!” - DJ Hell “Klinkt goed!” - Joost van Bellen “Sophisticated like Pet Shop Boys with a storm of Soft Cell's nastiness” - NoddY RioT “Holland's new rave reverends” - TimeOut London “Debauched rave-noir” - Amsterdam Weekly “A Dutch treat” - Ex Berliner mag “Super-electro Dutch ravers” - Trash Menagerie “Grandson of Marc Almond and Pet Shop Boys” - 3voor12's Hollandse Nieuwe “Ravage! Ravage!: Dark, exciting, arty, dance, rave, electro, Justice, Placeo, Bowie, My Bloody Valentine” - 3voor12rotterdam Musical parents: Fad Gadget, Soft Cell, Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, Divine, NoddY RioT. Musical relatives: IAMX, Ladytron, Austra, Mount Sims, The Knife, Thomas Azier, Late Of The Pier, Hurts, Crystal Castles, Patrick Wolf, Grimes, Light Asylum, FischerSpooner, Dandi Wind, The Ark, Glass Candy.
