Sad Brad Smith is a Chicago-based singer-songwriter. He gained national attention in 2009 when his song "Help Yourself" was featured in the Jason Reitman film "Up in the Air." Reitman had seen Smith play at a coffeehouse, and asked him to write a song for "Up in the Air." Buzz for the song proved strong; however, it did not qualify for Oscar contention, as Smith admitted that parts of the song had been conceived before Reitman contacted him about the film work. Smith is working on his debut solo album, "Love Is Not What You Need," which he plans to release in 2010. Read more on Last.fm.
