The alternative rockband SIAMESE FIGHTING FISH are one of the most promising bands in Denmark. The release of the critically acclaimed debut “We Are The Sound”, saw the band rise from the deep danish underground to the league of promising rock bands in the country. The debut was acclaimed as one of the best debut albums on SCREAM (Norway), Massmovement Magazine (UK), Rockfreaks and All Scandinavian. Furthermore, the band went on playing well over 50 concerts in seven different countries in only five months. Besides playing the venues of Europe, SIAMESE FIGHTING FISH was invited to play at POPKOMM in Berlin and SPOT Festival in Denmark. Their second album BREATHE:SEE:MOVE released in August 2012 in Denmark, is a further development of the sound that is so characteristic for SIAMESE FIGHTING FISH. The album went straight to #8 at the official Danish Album Chart, and was praised by critics. Gaffas Metal and Hardrock reviewer named it album of the year by the end of 2012, and the band went on winning a GAFFA Award for BEST HARDROCK ALBUM 2012, in front of Illdisposed and Mnemic. The awardshow was televised on the national TV2 Zulu. Recently, the band has also gotten some airplay. The band has been touring all fall in Denmark, and besides playing a lot of shows they managed to gather 50.000 kr. (7.000 Euro) for the Child Cancer Foundation, which they have donated. This tour has also attracted quite some attention by the Danish media, besides playing festivals and supporting Coheed And Cambria. The sound on BREATHE:SEE:MOVE holds high international standards and is recorded in Vibe Factory, which is one of the leading recording studios in Denmark, and mixed and mastered by Kristian Thomsen, who by many, is considered as one of the most talented producers and technicians in the country. The second album focuses on the positive side of things, whilst the debut had a tendency to find inspiration in the darker side of life. It is a clear indication of the development in the band as well as the focus to maintain positive in these somewhat dark times. This is exemplified by the highly political H.A.U.T. Leadsinger Mirza Radonjica elaborates: ”That we as a band have become more positive is funny in times with excessive terrorist attacks and the dark shadows of the financial crisis. But there are encouraging developments happening as well, and they are happening just before our eyes. The lyrics in the album opener H.A.U.T. are inspired by the tunesian streetgrocer Mohamed Bouazizi who lit himself on fire as a protest against the Tunesian system in 2010. His action and his life was the inspiration for a whole region. It started a revolution that will be ongoing for many years. We wish them the best of luck and our thoughts go out to the people in the Middeleast who are fighting for their right to choose. The album BREATHE:SEE:MOVE is released on the 12th of august in Europe.
