Based in Bloomington, Indiana, Sleeping Bag began as Dave Segedy's solo drum project (then called "Whoa Bro Awesome"). Segedy started flirting with melody and was joined by Lewis Rogers on guitar and David Woodruff on bass, two front-men singers in their own right. Dave Segedy remains the group's songwriter and primary vocalist. Yes, the drummer writes and sings all the songs, imagine that! Addictive melodies, deadpan delivery, jaunts of balls-out rocking, and minimalist tact characterize the power-pop gems on Sleeping Bag's s/t debut. Sleeping Bag's sound has evolved significantly since the debut LP. "Women of Your Life", Sleeping Bag's sophomore effort showcased a more full sound and heavier instrumentation. Sleeping Bag's third LP "Deep Sleep" was released August 23, 2004 and is a hazy, dreamy blend of pop melodies and darker substance. Dave Segedy remains the core of the band, but Lewis Rogers and David Woodruff have departed and been replaced by guitarist Tyler Smith and bassist Glenn Meyers. Read more on Last.fm.
