Society's Finest is a metalcore band with members from all around the country. (US) They write music dealing with some of the heaviest and darkest aspects of the human life. Society's Finest put out their first full-length album, The Journey...So Far, on Solid State Records in late 2000. In 2004 they signed on to Hand of Hope Records and put out their sophomore album Love, Murder, and a Three Letter Word. Their third album, And I, the Drunkards, is their darkest and most true album to date. It came out in 2006 and an explanation of the band and their new album can be found on http://www.myspace.com/societysfinest From their myspace page: The long awaited full length, titled And I, the Drunkards, has an intensity and passion that far surpasses their previous material. The music is propelled by driving double bass and metallic riffs, crafted by Eli Bowser, who has collaborated in the past with Tim Lambesis (As I Lay Dying) on both Societys Finest and other projects. Eli was also a significant force in the production of the album. The music supports Joshuas vocals- ranging from a menacing growl to impressively adept melodic singing. Lyrically, the songs are brutally honest and discuss Joshuas disagreement with the opinion Christians must be perfect all the time. Its angry, its dark, its honest, its real, says vocalist Joshua Ashworth about the new record, We wanted to dress ourselves up in the intensity of life, love, and regret....and then show everyone how our nightmare really exists. And I, the Drunkards was written in frustration and silenceIt needed to be designed and then played out in real life situations. We chose Andreas Magnusson (Planet Red Studios, Scarlet) because of what he did with his own music; we knew we would get that darkness we were looking for. Read more on Last.fm.
