SoundWitch

SoundWitch was formed in 2005 in Osaka, Japan. In 2007 and 2008 they released three one-track track demos, and in 2009 they branched out of the Kansai area and began playing national shows including a date at the female vocalist festival “ADDICT XX”. Using this momentum, in April of 2009, SoundWitch released their first full-length album WICCAHOLIC and promotional video WITHOUT . Soon after they began their nationwide tour in support of the album, which was concluded in January 2010 in Osaka with their first ‘one-man’ show. At their tour final SoundWitch performed 8 new songs, which where received with overwhelming support. In 2010 SoundWitch continued to perform at several Japanese music festivals and events including “FAR EAST RAMPAGE” and on the “ADDICT XX” second stage. Their second full-length album GROTESCA was released in October together with the promotional video FRUSTRATE ME, followed by another nationwide tour entitled the GROTESCA SHOW . Only months after the release of GROTESCA, in 2011 SoundWitch released WICCAHOLIX a remix CD featuring tracks remixes by both the band, and by a number of DJ’s within the electronic music club scene. Later that year, SoundWitch made their first overseas venture performing in Taipei, Taiwan as a part of their new tour KISS ME, KILL ME tour alongside Japanese metal band. In March 2012, SoundWitch made their second international date performing at the Japanese anime convention TEKKOSHOCON and Hard Rock Café, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. June opened the start of the next phase of evolution for SoundWitch when guitarist May left the band and was replaced with sound manipulator Maiden. After May’s departure, SoundWitch immediately launched into their new tour GHOST OF GROTESCA while releasing two new tracks SPIDER SPIDER and SO SWEET SO SCRATCH HEROES . In September 2013, SoundWitch completed their GHOST OF GROTESCA Final 10 tour at Tokyo's Rock May Kan. SoundWitch opened 2014 with the announcement of their much anticipated 3rd full-length album release ROMANESQUE and nationwide supporting tour ROMANCE OF THE KILL .
