Stalingrad Cowgirls is a punk/rock outfit hailing from a small town of Salla in Finnish Lapland, 60 kilometres north from the Arctic Circle. The three-piece was formed in 2005, and once they soon after left the rural surroundings and hit the road for the first time, they haven’t stopped since. After leaving so many audiences around Finland hungry for more of their hot live action, a vigorous group of record company A&R reps began chasing the girls, who just kept on doing what they know the best - playing rock ‘n’ roll. The band boomed into headlines, and it soon became 2clear that there’s no turning back. The girls, who are all just around 18 years old, finally signed a recording contract with Warner Music Finland in spring 2007. With a debut album in sight, Stalingrad Cowgirls entered the studio in June, while simultaneously travelling from a town to the next every weekend to give a show to remember. The first album “Somewhere High” was released in Finland on September 19, and it goes without saying that the band continues their uninterrupted spree of live shows to support the release.3 Alongside their headline tour in Finland, Stalingrad Cowgirls have been supporting world class acts such as Iggy and the Stooges and Muse on their European tours. Second album, "Kiss Your Heart Goodbye" was released in Finland on May 5, 2010. Stalingrad Cowgirls split up in 2012, playing their farewell gig in August 11th at Simerock festival, Rovaniemi.
