Star Sounds Orchestra was founded by keyboard-wizzard Steve Schroyder and gong-percussionist Jens Zygar, two true pioneers of cosmic space music who both dedicate their lifes to the love of sound and free energy. Star Sounds Orchestra hit various genres in their over 20 years ongoing career, starting from the deep insights of Berlin School, crossing the style-spectrum from hard core new age to contemporary electronic trance music. The two cosmic space shamans Steve Schroyder from Freiburg and Jens Zygar from Hamburg committed and dedicated their lifes to the one source of everything, which is space music & multidimensional sounds. SSO performs on festivals all over the world and their extatic live-shows are mindblowing and breathtaking. Collaborations with various musicans, especially with the singer Irina Mikhailova, highlight the joyful Star Sounds Orchestra live-act happenings and enchante all the cosmic music lovers of this universe. With their exciting concerts all over the planet, the Star Sounds Orchestra established a new genre of cosmic live-music, where state of the art electronica in combination with analog acoustic environments create multidimensional intriguing soundscapes. Basically the band is inspired by the works of the suisse mathematican Hans Cousto, who wrote essential publications about the Cosmic Octave, a scientific discipline, that deals with the expressions of the harmonical structures of nature within cosmic, spheric ambient, meditation and trance music. STEVE SCHROYDER: The musician and organ builder Steve Schroyder experienced the rise of a new electronic music in Berlin at the beginning of the 1970s. Even then he was experimenting with ways of rendering cosmic dimensions accessible to experience through sounds. Together with »Tangerine Dream«, he expressed this experience on the album entitled »Alpha Centauri«. It was during this production that he first encountered the new instrument known as the synthesizer, which, even now, is continuing to gain significance in generating sound and which played a major role in producing Tangerine Dream's next album, »Zeit«. Steve then joined a group called »Ashra Temple« and recorded with them the »Seven Up« album, on which Timothy Leary collaborated. In1980, Steve Schroyder and the musician Gene Gross together formed the group »Augenstern«. Their first studio recording was the MC »Strahlcn«, which met with acclaim in far-reaching New Age circles. Study of harmonic structures in nature gave rise to the idea of a »plant music«, which was first performed on the occasion of the Freiburg State Garden Show and can be heard on his next MC, »Blütenklang«. The listener can experience from within the resonance of the forms and beauties of flowers. Steve Schroyder and Hans Cousto met in the fall of 1987. Cousto acquainted Steve with the astronomic-harmonic groundwork of horoscope composition. Owing to their original manner of transposing horoscopes into music,. Steve Schroyder and Hans Cousto became popular studio guests on all sorts of radio and television programs here and abroad. In numerous live broadcasts, the horoscopes of studio guests were calculated, transposed into a musical composition and then performed live. One's own horoscope as a sound experience! JENS ZYGAR: Jens Zygar is a visionary gongplayer and an enthusiastic drum percussionist. Back in 1984 in Hamburg he founded the Klanghaus, a musical research institute, that studies the efects of sounds and rhythms. He met Hans Cousto even in 1982 and got aquainted with the theories of the COSMIC OCTAVE. In 1987 he started to develop in cooperation with the PAISTE company the PLANET GONGS. This was the beginning of a new area in musical instrument history, as for the first time instruments were build, that resonated octave analog with the frequencies of the solar system. In 1989 he met the legendary keyboarder STEVE SCHROYDER and together they founded the STAR SOUNDS ORCHESTRA. They created a unique style of COSMIC MUSIC, where electronic sounds in combination with the analog soundings of the PLANET GONGS and the drums created a cosmic soundscape, that from than on was very much appreciated by music lovers all over the planet. In the first years of the SSO, the two space shamans consequently focused on the ambient aspects of planetary cosmic octave music. As electronic music in terms of the new techno music expanded and hit the attraction of many people, the second phase of SSO started. Being a straight chillout live act who pleased people in their meditations and cuisings in the chillout zones of new age fares and rave temples, they switched to a trancefloor pumping hi energy band. A new chapter started and it was the beginning of being part of a global community of trance culture. Up today, SSO live acts are one of a kind experinces, that expand the perceptions of anything most concert guests took part on before. Through the special tunings within the sound and music, a sphereharmonical metaphysical effect manifests deep cosmci resonance experiences, that connect the audiences with the multi dimensional spheres aroud them. Being a pure acoustic hardcore fan, Jens Zygar started his role in the SSO as Steve Schroyders counterpart. After 20 years ongoing sound experiences, the boundaries melt and today there are no more limitations in terms of self restricitive dogmatic opionions.
