Star Star is a glam punk band formed in the late 80's. Described as "too punk for rock, and too rock for punk," their dirty, sleaze driven music never crossed over to mainstream success, which could have also been due to the rise of grunge in the early 90's. The band released two albums, "Go Go Girls in Love" and "the Love Drag Years" (as well as the "Science Fiction Boy EP") in the hey day of glam metal, but didn't have the over the top look dominating MTV at the time to match their critically acclaimed music. Michael Monroe of Hanoi Rocks makes a cameo in the music video for "Science Fiction Boy" (off of "the Love Drag Years"). The band has since relocated to Greece with three members and have been working on their newest album, "the Rock Trash Au Go Go Show," which is due out in the Fall of 2006. Currently, the members of the band are Johnnie Holiday on vocals/guitar, Weeds on bass, and Chris Jones on drums. The band is named after The Rolling Stones song "Star Star," as evidence that their official website's address is star fucker star, a lyric in the song. Read more on Last.fm.
