"Angelers", as the people who wear Takuya Angel's brand are nick-named, have been gathering at "Annnite" (Angeler Nite) club events since 1996, where Takuya himself always DJs (himself a big techno fan, he also makes his own club music "Japo-electro"). Now, Takuya Angel collaborates with Tokyo Decadence, one of the hottest events in Tokyo, and has previously staged several fashion shows showcasing his clothing and accessories. Taking kimono into the 21st century and beyond, Takuya Angel clothes and accessories are a riot of colour, patterns and shapes. From PVC to old kimono material, flourescent colours to black and white and forms taking inspiration from everything from insects and angels to Japanese warrriors, Takuya's creations are wild but stylish. Takuya was born in Osaka, where in 1995 he set up his first shop, "Artist Space Angel" in Higashi-Shinsaibashi. From this shop, the brand Takuya Angel was born in 1995 and soon after a shop opened in Tokyo, now just off Harajuku's famous Takeshita Dori.
