There are two bands known as The Predators. One is a three piece Japanese Rock super-group, the other a three piece Australian rock band. The Japanese group's name is purely capital letters. THE PREDATORS are a three-piece Japanese rock super-group formed in 2005 by vocalist and guitarist 山中さわお (Sawao Yamanaka) of the pillows, bassist JIRO of GLAY, and drummer ナカヤマシンペイ (Shinpei Nakayama) of ストレイテナー (Straightener). They released their first album on July 6, 2005 on an independent label titled "Hunting!!!!", followed by subsequent live performances at a number of summer rock festivals. By 2006, they suspended activities together. On October 15, 2008, THE PREDATORS revived activities and released their second mini album "牙をみせろ" (Kiba wo Misero), followed by their first tour titled SHOOT THE MOON TOUR at various Zepp venues throughout Japan. They have since recorded three new tracks: "グッド・マナーズ" (Good Manners), "Good bye Goblin", and the instrumental song "MEAT FACTORY". On August 4, 2010, THE PREDATORS released their latest album "This World" followed by their second tour titled THIS WORLD TOUR at various Zepp venues throughout Japan. Their latest activity was a release of their second live DVD in 2011 including live footage from their show at Zepp Tokyo in 2010 and bonus footage from a small show at Koenji High. The Predators, the Australian group, is compiled of three of the original members of Powderfinger - Ian Haug, John Collins (who are both still with the band), and Stephen Bishop (who quit before Powderfinger became famous). Haug, Collins and Bishop came together to write and play music, and in 2006, they recorded their EP - Pick Up The Pace (tracks can be heard in FM player). Read more on Last.fm.
