Vanessa Briggs

Coming out of the Trinidad and Tobago is the Caribbean's sweetest songbird. Vanessa Briggs, with her unique, multi-faceted vocal skill is currently putting the finishing touches to her much-anticipated debut CD. Vanessa is primed to make a major impact across the Caribbean, North America and other regions with her urban styled gospel music that blends R&B with the rhythms and splendour of the Caribbean. These traits were instilled in Vanessa when she trained under the direction of the legendary Sterling Gittens, one of the greatest musicians produced out of Trinidad. Working with Gittens and his Youth Pulse Choir over a four-year period, Vanessa developed her vocal, performance and composing skills. By the time she exited the group, Vanessa was a competent musical director as well as impressive vocalist. Her career thus far has seen her sharing the stage with the likes of Fred Hammond, Helen Baylor and Alvin Slaughter. Until a few years ago Vanessa, being wary of the forefront, would only perform backing vocals for other singers. Her days in the background served her well as her vocals can today be heard lending support to the projects of many other artistes.
