Named after the Very Large Array of telescopes in New Mexico, Very Large Array are an alt.rock band from Los Angeles, founded by brothers Steve and John Gripentrog. Today VLA consists of Steve Gripentrog on guitar, John Gripentrog on vocals, Paul Baza on drums, Carlo Bufano on bass and Ryan Irvine on guitar. They play live in the LA area and have built up a dedicated fanbase who are enthralled by the melodic sound and excellent live performance techniques. They have recieved several favourable reviews and recieved a "Best Unsigned Demo" award in 2000 from Music Connection, an LA-based industry magazine.
