Vixtrola

Addictive and uplifting pop vocal melodies punctuate electric guitars and an alt-rock edge that is refreshingly invasive in todays safe pop environment. Casual listeners who like to compare may find this raw combination reminiscent of Garbage and No Doubt, while music enthusiasts will appreciate the impeccable production. Each sound breathes and stands on its own. Members of the band were: Jamie Blake (vocals, piano, guitar) and Paul Andrews (bass, guitar, keyboards). Most people are familiar with Vixtrola due to their song "Gunboat" in the movie Darkness Falls. Unfortunately, the band's debut album end:user was never released by Geffen Records. The album was co-produced by the band and big names such as Danny Lohner (Nine Inch Nails) and Ric Ocasek (The Cars, No Doubt). A recent email notification announced that the album will hopefully be released for sale online in the begining weeks of February 2007. The email stated: We are finally making our music available online. Hoping to make it so we can sell each track individually, you won't get stuck paying for songs you dislike. Perhaps a discounted price if you want all ten songs? We'll see how it works with this company. Anyway, wanted to give you the heads up.
