There are at least 2 bands named White Rabbit. Early Days. White Rabbit were formed in Huyton, suburb of Liverpool around 2001/2002. They formed out of the ashes of what were to become known as 'hell jams', featuring such local music legends as James Connor (vocals), Owen Murphy (drums), and Thomas Kenny (bass). They soon realised the limitations of this line up, with numerous drummers playing with the band, before eventually settling with Connor on drums. The last of the famous international playboys, Tom Kenny, had his bass playing position occupied by bass virtuoso Alan 'the Fingers' Breen. Rumours have circulated Kenny may again one day pick up his bass, and play with Eurovision Song Contest favourites Paul Tallant and David Freeman. The lineup was completed by all round musical genius James 'the Adolf Hitler of alternative rock' Treadell (guitar, keyboards, backing vocals), and well-known Asda employee Mark Hughes (vocals, guitar). The 'Classic' Lineup They were soon joined by ex-Flaccid guitarist Liam Riley, and went on to become legendary for their live performances and the general attitude of the band, best encapsulated by the grumpy mood swings of drummer James Connor. James Treadell became renowned for inexplicably starting demos and drum loops on Alan Breen's keyboard whilst playing live. One such example occurred during a version of Last Page/GMN at the Barfly in October 2005, supporting local favourites Jade, who at that time featured the vocal talents of Tobias 'Steven Newlove's Bitch' Gibaud. The Cranford Years White Rabbit went into hiatus in summer 2006, but rumours circulated of a comeback gig at the Carmel College 2007 Battle of the Bands, featuring James Treadell on lead vocal, rather than Mark Hughes, who was kicked out for not being a gay. Three of the four members of the 'Classic' lineup are to be joined by James 'ooooh decent' Cranford on guitar. Cranford learned his trade in the garage of Mathew Fitzgerald, drummer for a succession of brilliant bands, such as The Fish Cats and The Beacons. Taking inspiration from Huytonian guitar legend Mark Ireland, Cranford soon realised he had obtained the ability to actually melt the faces of those in the immediate vicinity with his fretboard wankery. A skill that appealed greately to the hairy threesome. The new lineup of White Rabbit have so far played one live gig at the Zanzibar, Liverpool. Thirteen adoring fans, (including Tom Moss) turned up specifically to see the band, and a further crowd joined mainly to get pissed, but had their faces melted nontheless. Upcoming shows include another Zanzibar slot, and negotiations are currently underway which could mean White Rabbit playing such venues as Bumper, and Casi's in Wazza. Watch out. Connor's about. Jenny Siddell is a hag. Read more on Last.fm. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
